June 1, 2006 EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT ENHANCES GAZEBO AT TOWN PARK Bloomingburg – Eagle Scout Candidate Steven Davidson from Boy Scout Troop 37 will be transforming the gazebo located at the Town Park in Mamakating. The gazebo was donated to the Park years ago by a local resident and relocated by the Highway Department to its present location. It was placed on the side of the parking lot where it has remained. When approached by Steven several weeks ago to complete a community project for the Town, Supervisor Charles Penna, thought of the gazebo and how many people wanted to see it “completed” for the community’s enjoyment. “We are all so proud of Steven’s desire to make this improvement in our Town Park,” commented Supervisor Penna. “This project will benefit the entire community and be enjoyed by many.” Eagle Scout candidates go through a Life to Eagle process only once in their lifetime and follow nationally established rules and regulations. Steven has been busy planning and coordinating the work details and volunteer efforts that will include constructing a pathway, fixing structural damage to the gazebo and landscaping the area. The Town Highway Department has repositioned the gazebo away from the parking area and Steven is now ready to begin. He will start with fundraising opportunities such as a yard sale to be held at the Town Park on Saturday June 10th, beginning at 9AM. Please contact Steven @ steven@4davidson.com if you have items in good shape that you wish to donate to this event or if you desire to support his Eagle Scout project in any other way. |
