Shakespeare In the Park
|
|
A Great Time Had By All! The Towns enjoyed their first Shakespeare in the Park show on July 30 & 31, 2005. Approximately 300 people came out to enjoy Twelfth Night, split between both Saturday and Sundays shows. Many brought their blankets and picnic baskets as well as chairs and umbrellas to guard against the sun. The Supervisors office looks forward to creating future events like other Shakespeare plays and thero musicals, concerts and more. If you have any suggestions of an event/show you would like to see happen in your town park, please call us and let us know - or go to the Parks and Recreation Survey on the town site and fill it out. Your added input is appreciated and will help make our Parks and Recreation Department develop and grow! Many thanks to the following for helping to make our first Shakespeare in the Park a tremendous success! Our Town Supervisor, Charles Penna- for having the vision and desire to make this happen! Piper Theatre Productions, their actors and sound system - for a great show! Ian McMillan, Producer- for his dedication and direction! Sullivan Community College for letting us use their stage! Richard Johnson Jr,, Highway Superintendent for his assistance! Bloomingburg Fire Co. for being on call. Barbara Magiera for her assistance! Evelyn DeGuzman for feeding us all and volunteering her time! All those whose names I've forgotten that helped to make this day enjoyable! |
